Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Vetta. We keep them short and plain. Please read them together with the Privacy policy and the Fair play rules.
Who we are
Vetta is operated by AXIOM TRAIL - FZCO (“we”, “us”), IFZA Business Park, Building A1, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The service
Vetta is a 3D chess game with a collection of boards and pieces and tools to learn chess. Today you can play against the AI in your browser; the chess engine runs on your own device.
Age
Vetta has three age bands, from the year of birth you tell us (we keep only the year). We ask for it before you create an account, and it must be true.
Your account
You can play as a guest without giving us any personal details. With an account (a one-time code or link sent to your email, or Google or Apple), your games, progress and collection follow you on every device. Accounts are for people aged 13 and over (see Age).
Acceptable use
When you use Vetta, you agree not to:
Your games and names
Your games, handle, display name and avatar are shown inside Vetta as your settings allow: to your opponents, to your friends and, if you choose, to spectators.
Online games
So you’re never left waiting, when no other player is available for casual (unrated) games we may match you with a computer opponent designed to play like a person. Computer opponents never play rated games, never appear in rankings and never take part in tournaments or prizes.
Intellectual property
Vetta, its name and logo, its boards, pieces, sounds, texts and software belong to AXIOM TRAIL - FZCO or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use them inside Vetta, for your own non-commercial enjoyment.
Collection
Boards, pieces, environments, effects and gestures are cosmetic: they never change how the game plays or your chances of winning. We do not sell random boxes or anything that depends on luck.
Founders: Obsidiana and Terrazo
The Obsidiana and Terrazo boards and pieces are free for everyone until 26 November 2026 at 09:00 UTC (10:00 in Madrid), when the store opens.
Ivory
Ivory is the currency of Vetta. You earn it by playing and taking part: daily missions, the weekly calendar, your first win of the day, lessons, new levels, streaks, some season rewards and the Bring your friends challenge. You spend it in the Workshop, on collection items.
Purchases
When the store is open, which we announce first, you can buy collection items (boards, piece sets, environments, effects, gesture packs and whole sets) and season passes in Vetta. The seller is AXIOM TRAIL - FZCO (see Who we are).
Referrals: Bring your friends
When the Bring your friends challenge is open, it appears in Profile · Friends. It rewards you with collection items, Ivory and vouchers for friends who join Vetta from your invite link.
Availability
We work to keep Vetta running and your data safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without a guarantee that it will always be free of errors or interruptions. We may pause Vetta for maintenance or security, and we may change or discontinue features. If we decide to close Vetta, we will tell you in advance whenever we reasonably can.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Vetta and delete your account whenever you want.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when new features open. We will publish the new version here with its date and version number, and tell you in Vetta or by email before important changes apply. If you do not agree with them, you can delete your account; if you keep using Vetta, the new terms apply.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are subject to the courts of Dubai, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence, including your right to bring a claim before the courts where you live.
